چکیده

There is a range of modelling notations, both textual and diagrammatic, whose semantics are based on first-order predicate logic. This paper presents a visual framework for organizing models of systems which allows a mixture of notations, diagrammatic or textbased, to be used. The framework is based on the use of templates for connective operations which can be nested and sometimes flattened. It is modular and can be used to structure the constraint space of the system, making it scalable with appropriate tool support. It is also flexible and extensible: users can choose which notations to use, mix them and add new notations or templates. The goal of this work is to provide more intuitive and expressive languages and frameworks to support the construction and presentation of rich and precise models.

Towards Seamless Hybrid Graphical-Textual Modelling for UML and Profiles

Domain-specific modelling languages, in particular those described in terms of UML profiles, use graphical notations to maximise human understanding and facilitate communication among stakeholders. Nevertheless, textual notations are preferred for specific purposes, due to the nature of a specific domain, or for personal preference. The mutually exclusive use of graphical or textual modelling i...

Rule-Based Integration of Domain-Specific Modelling Languages

Domain-specific modelling languages (DSMLs) can increase the acceptance of (semi-)formal modelling techniques. They allow all stakeholders in an application domain to participate in the modelling process using notations that are close to their understanding of the domain. When several groups of stakeholders are concerned with a certain aspect of the modelled system, the question arises how diff...

Tool-Supported Systematic Model Assessment

In this paper we present a framework supporting domain–specific model assessment in a heterogeneous modelling environment. The generic method we developed is based on a common meta model for all user models created within different tools and notations. The method supports information retrieval for the set of models by means of queries and views, which can be interpreted as model cross sections ...

BPMN and Beyond Business process modelling notation, workflow modelling, functionality of systems Collection of Recent Papers

We define an extensible semantical framework for business process modeling notations. Since our definition starts from scratch, it helps to faithfully link the understanding of business processes by analysts and operators, on the process design and management side, by IT technologists and programmers, on the implementation side, and by users, on the application side. We illustrate the framework...

Modelling the Heterogeneous Price Setting Behavior of Firms (DSGE Approach)

Despite the empirical evidence of the difference in the degree of price stickiness of goods and services, in the new standard Keynesian models, the same price stickiness is considered for all firms producing intermediate goods. In recent years, a new generation of pricing models has been introduced to simulate the heterogeneous price setting behavior in which, unlike standard pricing models, th...
